Still Life in Photography

This richly illustrated volume opens with and enlightening essay about the history of still life, one of the most enduring subjects in art, and its expression in photography from the medium's invention to the present day. The eighty still-life photographs that follow, all reproduced in full color, span the history of photography from its nineteenth-century roots - exemplified by William Henry Fox Talbot and Roger Fenton - to early twentieth-century images by Walker Evan, André Kertész, Man Ray, and Edward Wetson to more recent work by Jo Ann Callis and Irving, Penn.
